Veterans Program

The Nooksack Tribal Veterans Program was created by the Tribal Council in 2007 to address the needs of its Tribal veterans. The Tribe’s Veteran’s Program will make services accessible to Tribal Veterans who to ensure that they’ll receive the benefits they deserve for serving their country. On March 21st, the Nooksack Tribal Social Services, through our Department of Justice Elders Program, held an Elders Event - "Living Treasures". During this event we honored 12 of our Eldest Elders in our service area of Whatcom County. The pamphlet and information about those elders is included here. Each Elder honored received a wool blanket by Eight Generation, thanks to the generousity of Louie Gong. All Elders who attended recieved homemade crates filled with tie blankets, canned fish & green beans, and homemade jam. Lunch and door prizes were provided by Northwood Casino. ...
