Situation Report Week of Nov. 10 – Nov. 16

Nooksack Tribe’s Notable COVID-19 Response Accomplishments Nov. 10 – Nov. 16

  • Due to increased COVID-19 case reports, the Nooksack Pandemic Response Team (NPRT) discourages travel and gathering indoors. Cases are most commonly spread by friends, family, and relatives. This fall is expected to see the highest case volume across the nation, prior to the release of viable vaccines for the public.
  • NPRT and the Tribal Council assess Governor Inslee’s November 15, 2020 state-wide restrictions announced for the next 4-week period, and its possible implications for the Nooksack government and casino. The NPRT feels confident in the policies and measures it has set in place to protect employees, including health screenings, cleaning, shorted hours, staggered shifts, randomized testing, etc.
  • Discussions include amending the Nooksack Fitness Pandemic Policy to include mask use during exercise. The policy already states a maximum of 5 physically-distant participants.
  • The Tribe releases four new positions related to the COVID-19 vaccine trial – two part-time physicians, a community outreach coordinator, and a non-emergency transporter.
