Nooksack Tribe’s Notable COVID-19 Response Accomplishments Jan. 12 – Jan. 18

  • Accepting applications for Nooksack’s Vaccine Trial Community Outreach Coordinator position. To learn more and apply, visit the Tribe’s Human Resources webpage.
  • The Nooksack Health Clinic is short-staffed and looking to hire a temporary nurse position. To learn more and apply, visit the Tribe’s Human Resources webpage.
  • The Nooksack Tribal Health Clinic schedules COVID-19 Moderna vaccine appointments for elders 60+ years. In order to utilize available vaccines, all Nooksack Tribal members 18+ years are invited to call the Clinic for an appointment, with priority given to: Nooksack elders and their spouses, and Nooksack members with comorbid and underlying conditions that put them at significantly higher risk (2 or more comorbidities). Appointments are required for vaccines. It may be possible to be added to a last-minute stand-by list for appointments that cancel. Call the Health Clinic at 360-966-2106.
  • The Novavax Vaccine Trial will stop enrolling new participants around February 8th. Tribal members 20 – 50 years old are encouraged to join Nooksack Vaccine Trial. Younger people may not get offered immunizations with the mRNA vaccines for several months. Native people are 3.5 times more likely to become infected and 1.8 times more likely to die if they get infected over all age groups.
