I want to let all Tribal members know that NIT Behavioral Health is open virtually to support you in this time of High Anxiety. We will continue to accept new clients; the only difference would be that you will be seen virtually or through a phone session. Having said that let me explain how it would work: Nooksack Tribal members can call our front office to make a virtual appointment. Those of you who have internet access will be contacted on the scheduled time through your email or phone number for a virtual counseling session. Those of you who do not have access to internet or data our Behavioral Health front office staff will call you to connect you with your Counselor for phone session visit. NIT BH Counselors will regularly reach out to our members who already established clients to enquire about their health and wellbeing.
Tribal Council Approves a One-Time Emergency General Welfare Assistance Distribution in Response to COVID-19 in the amount of $250 per member 18+ On Monday, March 16th, 2020, The Nooksack Tribal Council approved a one-time distribution of $250 to all Tribal Members 18 years and older (as of 3/16/2020) to assist with COVID-19 mitigation expenses. The Council has amended title 99 – General Welfare Ordinance so there is no tax implication to the member for this distribution. Tribal Administration will do its best to mail out the $250 distribution to each tribal member by Wednesday, March 25th, though please expect offices to be busy in this preparation. Be safe and continue to practice not touching your face, avoiding close contact with other poeple, social distancing, covering your cough and sneezes, hand washing, disinfecting, and getting familiar with symptoms.
Effective March 16th the Health Clinic will be operationg on limited hours. We will be open 10AM – 3PM for urgent/same day appointments Our goal is to keep our community healthy and prevent the spread of germs. If you are sick and experiencing: cough, fever, chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, please call the clinic before arriving.
