Habitat Program

The Habitat Program coordinates salmon recovery activities and monitoring throughout the watershed and implements salmon habitat restoration projects in the Nooksack River. Habitat Program staff represent the Tribe in local salmon and ecosystem recovery forums and provide technical expertise on salmon recovery and Treaty resource protection. Accomplishments of the Habitat Program include publishing over 20 recovery plans, habitat assessments, restoration plans and other technical reports and implementing 19 habitat restoration projects in the North and South Fork Nooksack that comprise 262 log jams and 52 acres of riparian planting (as of 2018).
