Phase 3 COVID‐19 Vaccine Trial
The Lummi Tribal Health Center in partnership with the University of Washington is seeking volunteers for a Phase 3 COVID‐19 investigational vaccine clinical trial. The purpose of this clinical trial is to test an investigational vaccine for the prevention of COVID‐19. Investigational means the vaccine is not approved by the FDA. The clinical trial will assess how well this investigational vaccine prevents COVID‐19.
Participants will be assigned by chance (like flipping a coin) to receive either vaccine or placebo. 2 of 3 participants will receive the vaccine. Participants will receive two vaccinations, 21 days apart. The trial will last for two years and will involve at least 8‐10 in‐person visits.
Participants will undergo a screening visit to see whether they are eligible. Study visits will involve physical exams, blood draws, injections, and nasal swabs.
To be eligible for the trial you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be at increased risk for exposure to COVID‐19
Conditions which would prevent you from participating:
- Previous laboratory‐confirmed case of SARS‐CoV‐2 infection
- Current pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Confirmed or suspected immunodeficiency (stable HIV is ok)
- Unstable medical conditions
Participants will be compensated $1,250 if they complete the entire study, plus additional compensation for any unscheduled visits required by the study.
Our clinic is located at 2592 Kwina Rd, Bellingham, WA 98226 and open Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm.
