Elder Chromebook COVID-19 Response Program

The purpose of this policy is to establish a needs-based COVID-19 response program to provide Chromebook assistance to elder Nooksack members during the pandemic and to increase access to the outside world while remaining at home and for ready access to telemedicine appointments.

Definition:

“Elder Tribal Member” means a currently enrolled member of the Nooksack Indian Tribe and currently over the age of fifty-five (55) years of age.

Objective:

To respond to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing Tribal elders the tools for access to the outside world while remaining at home and for ready access to telemedicine appointments.

Applicant Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for Elder Chromebook Assistance Program:

  1. Must be an enrolled Nooksack Tribal Member prior to March 1, 2020;
  2. Must be currently over the age of fifty-five years of age at the time the application is completed; and
  3. Tribal member must need the Chromebook as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Application Requirements:

Needs-based application. Applicants will be required to submit an application to the Administration Department by July 30, 2021.
