NWIC offering tuition-free Summer quarter

In a first for Northwest Indian College, all summer courses will be offered tuition-free.

Tuition is being waived to advance student success, particularly in an effort to close equity gaps, support first- and second-year student success, increase the success of transfer students, bring back stopped out students, and offer targeted courses that historically have high drop and fail rates – giving students an opportunity to catch up.

The summer quarter is a reduced, 8-week session, compared 10-11 week courses during the academic year. With regular tuition normally $99 per credit plus a $135 fee for full-time students, students taking a full course load (12 credits) this summer can expect to save $1,323 in tuition.  Although the courses are free, the courses are still part of a student’s permanent academic record.

Registration for summer is open May 17 to July 2. The quarter runs July 6 to August 20.

Registration also opened for fall quarter on May 17. Registration closes Sept. 17 and the quarter begins Sept. 20.
