REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)
NOOKSACK DEPARTMENT – TRIBAL ARTS GRANT (TOTEM POLE REPAIR)

  1. BACKGROUND The Cultural Department/Nooksack Tribe, had recently accepted grant funds for Tribal Arts Grant. They are currently accepting proposals from Nooksack artists.
  2. PROPOSAL GUIDELINES We are looking for a Nooksack Carver to remove paint, re-paint, repair, and restore a totem pole which had been purchased by the Nooksack Tribe. (Preferably a person who has had experience carving/working with totem poles).
    When responding, please provide the costs involved for your time and materials.
  3. PROJECT BUDGET The funding for this project comes from a granting agency. (Washington State Arts Commission). All federal and tribal procurement process must be followed.
  4. SELECTION CRITERIA
    a. Artist submitting the proposal must be an enrolled member of the Nooksack Tribe
    b. Design must be Coast Salish, and represent Nooksack and/or its territory
    c. Proposal must be submitted by due date
    d. Proposal will be reviewed and selected by Cultural Director and ultimately approved by Tribal Council
  5. REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL AND PROJECT TIMELINE
    All proposals in response to this RFP are due no later than 2pm PST July 24, 2024.
    The winning proposal will be presented to Tribal Council on July 25, 2024. If additional information or discussions are needed with any bidder during this one-week window, the bidder(s) will be notified.
    Upon notification, the winning bidder will be presented with a contract for their signature.
    The Art Project must be completed and delivered by August 31, 2024.
  6. RESPONSES SHALL INCLUDE:
    a. Designer’s name, address, email address and telephone number; and
    b. Copy of Tribal Identification.
    Any response that does not include all of the above shall not be considered.
